A friend and I will be traveling from London to Paris, Paris to Berlin and from Berlin to Rome. How do you suggest we should travel during each trip, we’re looking for cost efficient ways. We are both 19 years old. We thought maybe bus from london to paris, train from paris to berlin and plane from berlin to rome?
Is it worth it to buy the eurail pass, and if so, what exactly does the pass cover? Will we be paying extra money in additon to what the eurail pass covers? Any options will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.
if your journey is just to know the capitals, the cheapest way to travel can be by plane, there are very cheap airlines in europe as easyjet, ryanair, airberlin etc…. cheaper than bus or train. for example I am used to travel from bremen to barcelona by plain, it costs about 40,-€ as an offer, 120,- by bus and 200,- by train, without offer.
in northern europe you will find a lot of offers for train and bus, so it is completeally impossible to give you an answer without knowing the details and days.
if your want to travel comfortable and want to see something of the continent, go by train with eurail. there you will know lots of eutravellers and stop in funny places you never have imagined before. I did it two times when i was younger.
the bus is just to travel in the interior of some countries in southern europe. eurail covers the south of europe also in mostly tarrifs. in northern europe it is cheaper to take the train.
